In this 14 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari and Gorilla Trekking Experience, you will be exploring the treasures of Kenya and Uganda. Explore the Kenyan Wildlife most especially the Lions, Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes, Hyenas, Rhinos among other many animals in Samburu, Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru. Day 1: Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport and transfer to Hotel
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Meet and greet assistance by our staff, introduction to your driver guide then you will be briefed about your tour as you are driven to your city Hotel. Overnight stay at Nairobi Serena Hotel/ Pride Inn Azure Hotel, Nairobi. Meal Plan: Dinner.
Day 2: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve (5 hours drive)
Depart Nairobi in the morning at 8:00AM-and proceed north across the equator to Samburu National Reserve which is rich in wildlife with fame for abundance in rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx (Also referred as Samburu Special). The reserve is also popular with a minimum of 900 elephants. Large predators such as the Lion, Leopard and Cheetah are an important attraction (Kamunyak the Miracle Lioness that adapted the baby Oryx is a resident in the reserve). Wild dog sightings are also a common attraction to this unique protected area. Birdlife is abundant with over 450 species recorded. Birds of the arid northern bush country are augmented by several riverine forest species. Lesser Kestrel and the Taita Falcon are species of global conservation concern and they both utilize the reserve. You’ll arrive at the Lodge just in time for lunch then proceed to an afternoon game drive. Overnight stay at Samburu Sopa Lodge/ Samburu game lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 3 of the 14 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari and Gorilla Trekking Experience: Samburu National Reserve
You’ll spend a full day in Samburu. After breakfast, you’ll go for a morning game drive where you’ll get a chance to spot Beisa Oryx, Gravy’s zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe. After the game drive return to the lodge for lunch, enjoy the lodge’s facilities then proceed to another game drive with an optional visit to a local Samburu village. Overnight stay at Samburu Sopa Lodge/ Samburu game lodge, Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 4 of the 14 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari and Gorilla Trekking Experience: Samburu National Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park (5 hours drive)
Breakfast then you will be driven to Lake Nakuru National Park which is known for its large population of flamingos in Lake Nakuru and it is one of the Great Rift Valley lakes. So you will have a short stop over at the rift valley which is at an elevation of 1,754 m above sea level for photos. Check-in at your lodge and later have lunch as you wait for your late afternoon and evening game drive, so the guide will help you locate Lake Nakuru, the alkaline lake that hosts several bird species and plenty of animal species like Buffalos, White Rhinos, Water Bucks, Lions and Rothschild Giraffes among others. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge/ Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara National Reserve (6 hours drive)
After morning breakfast, head to Masai Mara National Reserve which is located in the south western parts of Kenya and the reserve borders Tanzania forming Serengeti National in the Tanzanian side. It has rich ecosystem with preserved savannah wilderness and the wildebeest traverse its plains during the annual migration. Upon your arrival in the afternoon, you will be served lunch and the evening will be spent on game drive in search of the BIG 5 (Elephants, Lions, Leopard, Buffaloes, and Rhinos with several other animals including Impalas, Gazelles, Wildebeests, Hyenas, Topis, Zebras, Giraffes and hundreds of bird species. Overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge/Agamba Mara Lodge/ Mara Simba Lodge. Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner.
Day 6 of the 14 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari and Gorilla Trekking Experience: Masai Mara Game Drive
Have early morning breakfast ready for the morning and late afternoon game drive. The reserve hosts over 450 species of mammals and over 500 species of birds. So the whole day will be spent in viewing the BIG 5 (Elephants, Lions, Leopard, Buffaloes, and Rhino) Also other animal species like Impalas, Gazelles, Wildebeests, Hyenas, Topis, Zebras, Giraffes and hundreds of bird species. The annual Wildebeests Migration from Serengeti to Masai Mara also takes place here between July and October when millions of Wildebeests and Zebras closely trailed by the Big Cats cross the Mara River and roam the reserve’s vast plains in search of greener pastures. Day 7 of the 14 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari and Gorilla Trekking Experience: Masai Mara – Entebbe airport – Kampala
Breakfast at your camp. Check out by 07:30 hrs and drive back to Nairobi. If time permits, we offer a short en route game drive. On arrival, en route lunch followed by transfer to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on time for your evening flight to Entebbe and you will be transferred to Kampala. Overnight at Latitude 0 Degree Kampala/ Speke Resort Hotel Munyonyo/ Mestil Hotel/ Speke Hotel Kampala/ Dolphin Suites Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 8: Kampala – Fort Portal / Kibale National Park (6 hours drive)
Drive through Mityana, Mubende and Kyenjojo districts along are the community homesteads, tea plantations and forest reserves to Kibale Forest National Park with your lunch en-route. Kibale forest National Park is Africa’s top protected area for primates with more than 1,000 chimpanzees and 13 species of primate. The afternoon may be spent on a hike to one of the crater Lakes which formed during the ancient volcanic activity leaving a breathtaking scenery. Overnight at Kyaninga Lodge/ Primate Lodge Kibale/ Chimpanzee Guest House. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 9: Kibale Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park (3 hours drive)
You will be driven to Kyanyanchu UWA headquarters for briefing before you are assigned a ranger guide to start your Chimpanzee trekking at 8:00am. Enjoy seeing the closest creatures to human beings and it will take half day enjoying this adventurous activity. It is also an opportunity of seeing other primates like Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, phoestes, and butterflies. Later you will be driven to Queen Elizabeth National Park with the en-route game drive. Queen Elizabeth NP is the second largest national park in Uganda with 95 species of mammals and 600 species of bird. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 10: Game Drive and Boat safari on Kazinga Channel
Leave your accommodation in the morning. Drive through the vast savannah, and look for your favorite animals, with a help of experienced park ranger. Enjoy observing the animals in vast savannah at the foot of Rwenzori Mountains. You will be able to spot leopards, elephants, lions, Uganda kobs, Topi, hyenas, and big herds of buffaloes, large families of banded mongoose, warthogs, bushbucks and waterbucks. The afternoon will be spent on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel which connects the water flow from Lake George to Lake Edward. The channel attracts a varied range of animals and birds, with one of the world’s largest concentration of hippos and numerous Nile crocodiles, It is also an opportunity of seeing the elephnats, Buffaloes and many antelopes on the its shores quenching their thirst and cooling their bodies. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Kyambura Lodge/ Elephant Plains Lodge/ Enganzi Safari Lodge/ Buffalo Safari Lodge/ Simba Safari Camp. Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner.
Day 11: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (6 hours drive)
Have early morning breakfast ready for your second game drive on the Kasenyi plains as you proceed for another mini game drive at Ishasha sector as you keep your eyes on acacia trees for tree climbing lions.This is the second and last game drive at Mweya. If you have missed your favorite in first time, tell them to ranger guide. We wish your good luck. Later you proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is famous for its Mountain Gorilla. It has rich ecosystem, 95 species of mammal and 345 species of bird. Overnight at Buhoma Lodge/similar lodge depending on the gorilla permits availability and allocation. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 12 of the 14 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari and Gorilla Trekking Experience: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking
Leave your room and drive to UWA briefing point ready for the Gorilla trek starting at 8:00am. This great ape is endangered and only 1,063 individuals remained in the whole world. Bwindi is a home for its ¾ world population. It takes between 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the Gorillas from the previous day trek. Remember to carry the rain jacket, drinking water, jungle boots and your packed lunch and every moment of the Gorilla trekking is unique and amazing as you watch them playing, eating, coupling, and the youngsters swinging on the tree branches. This is a lifetime experience and incomparable with any other East African adventure. Overnight at Buhoma Lodge/ similar lodge depending on the gorilla permits availability and allocation. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 13: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Kampala (10 hours drive)
Drive to Kampala with lunch stop at Mbarara. A must visit of Igongo Cultural Museum for the outstanding Ankole cultural history. Proceed with a photo stopover at the Equator as you continue to Kampala. Overnight at Latitude 0 Degree Kampala/ Speke Resort Hotel Munyonyo/ Mestil Hotel/ Speke Hotel Kampala/ Dolphin Suites Hotel.Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 14: Kampala – Entebbe Airport (2 hours drive), end of the 14 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari and Gorilla Trekking Experience
The morning of the last day is free. Please advise our driver guide the place you want to visit (Kampala city tour or shopping).Please make sure to leave Kampala in time before the departure time of your flight back home. Meal Plan: Breakfast.
