2 days source of the Nile tour and white water rafting Safari highlights
Jinja town is located on the shores of Lake Victoria. This is the entry and base town to the source of the Nile. So the 2 days source of the Nile tour and white water rafting safari will make you visit Sezibwa falls, Mabira forest, Semuka Island and at last with Rafting on the Nile which is so adventurous and memorable for the rest of your life in Uganda.
Day 1: Transfer to Jinja (2 hours drive)
You will be picked from your place of residence or Entebbe airport and transferred to Jinjawhich in the Eastern part of Uganda. On your way to Jinja branch off to visit Sezibwa Falls which are found on the Sezibwa River. This River flows from the wetlands between Lake Victoria and Lake Kyoga. Sezibwa Falls are about seven meters high and with the sweet hissing sound created by the falling waters form a beautiful scenery. Here you will go for a guided nature walk around the falls and rocks as you watch and listen to birds singing in the air. While on this guided walk you will appreciate the wonders of nature.
After your guided walk at Sezibwa you will proceed to Mabira forest which is one of the last remaining rain forests and biggest in Central Uganda. It has an enormous biodiversity comprising of 315 bird species, 312 tree species, 218 species of butterflies, 97 species of moths, 40 species of small mammals including the red – tailed monkeys, vervets, grey-cheeked mangabeys and many nocturnal animals. While here go for yet another guided nature walk.
Later on, head to Jinja with a lunch break before you enjoy the sunset boat ride to the source of River Nile, the world’s longest river. You will be shown the spot where the River is believed to start its 4000-mile journey to the Mediterranean Sea. This sunset cruise may also take you to Samuka Island where you will have a great time viewing birds and the beautiful vegetation around the shores.
Overnight at Jinja Nile Resort Hotel/Gately on the Nile/ The Haven Eco River Lodge/ Surjio’s Guest House or at the 2Freinds Hotel. Meals Plan: Lunch and Dinner.
Day 2: White water Rafting and drive back to Kampala (2 hours drive)
After your breakfast, head for whitewater rafting on the Nile. Your rafts will explode through huge walls of whitewater and drift through the warm green pools in the equatorial sunshine It is an amazing and thrilling adventurous time you will encounter and will remember for the rest of your life.
