One and Only Nyungwe House is the leading luxury facility in Nyungwe Forest National Park, it is tucked in the Gisakura tea estate, Nyungwe forest is one of the oldest tropical rain forests in Africa, said to have survived the ice edge era, it is home to 13 primate kinds, notable resident species is the chimpanzee, and the Black and white colobus monkeys, the chimps are said to be closet relatives to mankind sharing up to 98 % of the human DNA, while at the lodge the forest is at your dispersal, the birds echoing beautiful melodies through the windows of your rooms is such a magical moment.

Guests have a wide variety of choice on which activities to participate in starting from the Chimpanzee tracking, it takes early in the morning at the park center, the primates are known to dominate the forest, there are habituated chimpanzee families, chimps live in troops of up to 200 members led by a male alpha, they are social species, intelligent and have been known to have the ability to use tools, you will enjoy the walk as the experienced guide will be in position to explain to you what is transpiring in the forest, plants and tree species, it is just beautiful to have meet the chimpanzee, an hour is allowed while with the primates after which you will return to meet your guide who will advise on what to do next.
The Canopy walk is one of the catching things to do in Nyungwe Forest National Park, the walk along the suspended bridge enables you to view wildlife from the top, the bridge is suspended about 160m across in between trees. Birding experiences along the well distributed trails is a great way to spend time while in Nyungwe Forest National Park, enjoy the birds of the Albertine some of these are endemic to the destination like the great blue turaco. Tracking the black and white colobus monkeys, there are many troops of the black and white colobus monkeys in the national park.
